Quantitative comparison of regional displacements between experiment and finite element model. The peak distal displacements occurring in the anterior, middle, and posterior regions are shown for ultrasound experiments (Slane and Thelen, 2014) and for the present finite element model. For both passive and eccentric cases, finite element simulations predicted regional displacements within one standard deviation of experimental results.
