HLA Class I Binding Assay Results. C. burnetii HLA class I epitope affinities for six supertype HLA-A and HLA-B alleles were assessed in competition binding assays. Peptide binding strength was classified according to IC50 value in the following categories: high affinity (<5 μM), moderate affinity (5–50 μM), and low affinity (50–1,000 μM). Epitopes with IC50 values >1,000 μM or with no dose-dependent response were considered non-binders.
