SVT prevents SNP-induced chondrocyte dedifferentiation by downregulating MMP-1 and -13. Cells were transfected with either scrambled siRNA or (a) MMP-1- or (b) MMP-13-specific siRNA. After 24 h, cells were added with 50 μM SVT for 1 h and then with 1 mM SNP for additional 24 h and analyzed by western blotting.
