Development and distribution of MNP and GCs in the trachea of CSF1R-transgenic birds. CSF1R-mApple⁺ cells are distributed throughout the tracheal mucosa from ED18, forming small aggregates from 1 week of age (A–D). At 5 weeks post-hatch, mature GC with tightly packed CSF1R-eGFP⁺ cells are surrounded by a halo of CSF1R-transgene⁺ cells (Ei–Eii). w = week/s of age.
