Figure 1.

Figure 1

Association between tertiles of baseline TMV and 10‐year EDSS Scores. (A) Mean difference in 10‐year EDSS scores across tertiles of baseline TMV. Analyses are adjusted for age, sex, history of optic neuritis, and baseline EDSS scores. (B) Values displayed are odds ratios (OR; 95% CI) for meaningful change in EDSS associated with baseline tertiles of TMV thickness. OR are additionally adjusted for age, sex, history of ON and baseline EDSS scores. Tests for linear trend across tertiles were conducted by modeling the individual's tertile ranking as a continuous covariate in a similarly adjusted regression models. We defined a clinically meaningful change in EDSS as a 2.0 point increase if baseline score <6.0 or a 1.0 increase if baseline score ≥6.0. Of the 160, 42 (26%) experienced a meaningful change in EDSS. (C) Multivariable adjusted mean difference in 10‐year EDSS scores across tertiles of baseline TMV among patients with RRMS at baseline. (D) Multivariable adjusted OR (95% CI) for meaningful change in EDSS associated with baseline tertiles of TMV among patients with RRMS at baseline. (E) Multivariable adjusted mean difference in 10‐year EDSS scores across tertiles of baseline TMV among patients with EDSS scores ≤3.0 at baseline. (F) Multivariable adjusted OR (95% CI) for meaningful change in EDSS associated with baseline tertiles of TMV among patients with EDSS scores ≤3.0 at baseline. TMV, total macular volume; EDSS, Expanded Disability Status Scale; RRMS, relapsing‐remitting MS.
