Proposed models of Rex repression supported by electromobility shift assays of binding sites upstream of central glycolytic genes. These results suggest Rex represses expression of ferredoxin‐dependent pyruvate/ketoisovalerate oxidoreductase (Solid red line). Rex transcriptional control of pyruvate carboxyltransferase (ATHE_RS11210, also annotated as oxaloacetate decarboxylase), though remains doubtful because of the relatively high Kd observed in vitro (dashed red line)
