RNA editing by pentatricopeptide repeat protein PPR56 at its nad3 and its nad4 target increases over time. RNA editing levels and E. coli cell numbers were determined for dual-target editing factor PPR56 at 4, 8, and 20 h after induction of expression with 0.4 mM isopropyl β-d-1-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG). Cell numbers were calculated based on the culture density mean at OD₆₀₀ (s.d. 0.01–0.05) of the biological and technical replicates per time point. Three experiments with independent primary clones (biological replicates) plus 1–2 technical replicates per biological replicate were included.
