Effects of competition and nutrient fertilizer on N, P, K and NO₃⁻-N contents of leaves of Rumex conglomeratus, R. acetosa and R. confertus seedling in each of two nutrient treatments. (n = 5 per species and treatment). The results are means (±SD) for all combinations of target (arranged in columns) and neighbour species (in rows). Different letters denote significant differences between mean values (ANOVA, Tukey’s HSD post hoc test with Bonferroni correction at P < 0.01). In leaves the nutrient contents per plant estimated as the product of nutrient concentration, expressed as percentage of dry matter obtained from three leaves per plant.
