Organic dust extract (ODE)-induced neutrophil and lymphocyte influx, neutrophil elastase, and IL-17A levels are reduced in myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88) knockout (KO) animals. C57BL/6 MyD88 wild-type (WT) and KO mice were treated with intranasal inhalation of saline or ODE daily for 1 wk, and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was collected 5 h after final treatment. Graphs depict mean value and SE of total cells and cell differential (A). B: neutrophil elastase levels were quantified in BALF. IL-17A (C) and IL-13 and IL-33 (D) levels were quantified by ELISA from cell-free BALF (n = 8 mice per group). *P < 0.05, significant difference between ODE and saline. **P < 0.05 between WT and MyD88-KO mice.
