A schematic diagram of several types of Lpar1 promoter deletion constructs is in the left panel. (A–B) TR mouse cells (Chun and Jaenisch, 1996) were transfected with one of the Lpar1 promoter constructs or pGL3-basic vector. The cells were lysed and assayed for luciferase activity twenty-four hours post-transfection. The values represent the mean ± S.E. of luciferase activity increases in folds with respect to the pGL3-basic construct. The experiment was performed in triplicate and the values were normalized to the activity of concurrently transfected Renilla luciferase. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01. ns is non-significant.
