CD8+CD122+PD-1+ Tregs synergizes with costimulatory blockade of CD40/CD154, but not B7/CD28, to suppress mRNA expression of proinflammatory cytokines in skin allografts. mRNA expression of IFN-γ, TNF-α, and IL-6 in skin allografts was measured using RT-PCR assays 2 weeks after skin transplantation and treatment with CD8+CD122+PD-1+ Tregs, MR1, or CTLA4-Ig.
