Non-heme iron levels were assessed in Hepc^+/+/Dmt1^fl/fl, Hepc^−/−/Dmt1^fl/fl, Hepc^−/−/Dmt1^int/+, and Hepc^−/−/Dmt1^int/int mice (male and female littermates) at 7 weeks of age.
