Surface modification and characterization of PNIPAAm conjugated PCL. ATR-FTIR analysis of PCL and PCL-PNIPAAm confirmed the successful conjugation of PNIPAAm to PCL. Several new peaks appeared due to PNIPAAm-NH₂ introduction onto PCL-COOH (a). Surface morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopic images and the EDS profile showed the appearance of a nitrogen peak as the PNIPAAm (b). This was further confirmed by XPS spectra scan by the appearance of a N1s peak in PCL-PNIPAAm surfaces (c).
