A combination of Tr-OxPL and inflammatory agonist challenges in young mice mimics severe ALI induced in aged mice. Young mice were exposed to TNF-α (10 µg/kg, i.t.) or POVPC (10 mg/kg, i.v.) separately or in combination for 24 h. Mice were killed and BAL was analyzed for total cell count (A) and protein content (B). For comparison, old mice were also challenged with same dose of TNF-α.
