Combination therapy with DFX and CDDP is most effective in suppressing the tumor growth of HSC-2 cells in vivo. (A) HSC-2 cells (3 × 106 per mouse) were injected subcutaneously into the right flank of 24 mice. On day 2 when the tumors reached 150~200 mm3, mice were randomly assigned to one of four groups (n = 6 per group), and the treatments were initiated as indicated. Tumor size was monitored twice per week. The mean tumor volumes of each group ± S.E.M. and p values for comparison between groups are shown. In the combination group, tumor growth of HSC-2 cells was most effectively and significantly suppressed compared with the control group. * p < 0.05. (B) Only the combination therapy significantly suppressed the tumor weight of HSC-2 cells in vivo. * p < 0.05. (C) All isolated tumors are shown.
