Cellular uptake of strontium sulfite particles with bound fluorescence-labeled siRNA. MCF-7 cells were treated with media (untreated), free siRNA and different strontium sulfite particles. SSNs, NaCl-SSNs, Glc-SSNs and Na-Glc-SSNs with loaded siRNA were formed by adding SrCl2 (60 mM), Na2SO3 (10 mM) and 10 nM of AF488 negative siRNA in presence or absence of NaCl (300 mM) and/or glucose (200 mM) at (A) 4 h of treatment and (B) 12 h of treatment.
