Making agarose pads. (A) The base slide is placed between two other slides with two layers of tape (red) to act as spacers for the pad. (B) A drop of about 100 μL of molten 2% agarose is placed on the slide. (C) Immediately, another slide is placed on top of the molten agarose to create a pad of uniform thickness.
