FIG 3

Enzymatic activity toward Cys-4-MMP (black) and cysteine (white) in protein extracts from BY4742 ΔIRC7 yeast cells overexpressing the multicopy plasmid pHVX2 with different alleles of IRC7. Each result is expressed as the mean of three independent replicates. For both substrates, activity was expressed as a percentage relative to cells harboring the pHVX2-IRC7L construct (100%) overexpressing the long or full-length version of IRC7. Enzymatic activity for this allele was found to be 214 ± 36 and 89.6 ± 12.4 nmol·min−1 µg·prot−1 for cysteine and Cys-4-MMP respectively.
