rtfA is necessary for normal virulence in the animal model Galleria mellonella. The A. flavus strains were used to infect G. mellonella larvae. Thirty replicates were used per strain. Thirty animals were also used as controls, injected with PBS buffer only. An additional control with 10 noninjected animals was used. The animals were maintained at 30°C in the dark for 24 h.
