CP inhibits AntR translation. P. aeruginosa PAO1/PantR-′lacZ−SD and ΔprrF/PantR-′lacZ−SD (A) and PA14/PantR-′lacZ−SD and PA14 Δphz/PantR-′lacZ−SD (B) were grown in Tris/TSB in the absence or presence of 5, 10, or 20 μm CP-Ser at 37 °C for 8 h. β-Galactosidase activity was assayed in cell suspensions (n = 3; *, p < 0.05; **, p < 0.01). For comparison with untreated cultures of PAO1 and PA14, p < 0.05 for 10 μm CP-Ser and p < 0.01 for 20 μm CP-Ser. For comparison with untreated culture of Δphz and ΔprrF, p < 0.05 for 20 μm CP-Ser treatment.
