Chemical structure of DNA. Adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine are shown in colors green, blue, red, and purple, respectively. Notice the double-ring structure of the purines (A, G) and the single-ring structure of the pyrimidines (C, T). Similarly, the type of bond is readily observable: double- and triple-Hydrogen bonds for A, T and G, C, respectively.
