Data are expressed as mean ± SEM. Neuron counts and the degree of co-localization of Rxfp3 mRNA with vGAT and vGlut2 mRNA were determined using two coronal sections from the mid, anterior part of the MS/DB (0.74 mm from bregma) from n = 3 mice. DAPI staining was used to calculate the total number of neurons within the anatomical area assessed. MS, medial septum; DB, diagonal band (horizontal and vertical regions).
