PNA is a human serum albumin that has been modified with multiple caged nitroxide groups. The nitroxide groups exhibit antioxidant activity and have the ability to catalytically remove superoxide in the vasculature and intracellular spaces. Tumors display elevated levels of reactive oxygen species that promote growth and metastasis.
