Timeline and group assignment. Rats were given 14 days (days 2–15) of binge pattern cocaine exposure (three injections of 15 mg/kg of cocaine per day, timed 1 hr apart) or injections of isovolumetric saline, then given a 14‐day drug‐free period (days 25–29) and subsequently exposed to either the open field (OF) and elevated plus maze (EPM) or routine handling on the final day of testing (day 30; a).
