Cellular inflammation in whole lung lavage fluid. Treatment with high molecular weight hyaluronan (HMWHA) significantly reduces cell influx into the airway compartment. HMWHA reduces eosinophils and macrophages significantly, whereas there is a nonsignificant trend for the reduction of polymorphonuclear cells.
