Size over time of nanoparticles produced via FNP either in the CIJ mixer or the MIVM. NPs produced by the CIJ (red squares) were initially larger but ripened more slowly than those produced by the MIVM (blue circles). Nanoparticles produced by both mixers remained in an acceptable size range, i.e. less than 400 nm, and monodisperse 6 h after fabrication and were therefore suitable for additional drying unit operations such as lyophilization or spray drying
