sGC and cAMP activation reduce TGF-β1 stimulated fibroblast proliferation. Fibroblasts were preincubated for 30 minutes with either BAY 41-2272 (10−6 M), LY2157299 (10−6 M) or forskolin (10−6 M) before being stimulated with TGF-β1 (10ng/ml) for 3 days. Cell counts were performed in triplicate and bars represent the mean ±SEM. P values were calculated by paired Student's t-test.
