Reaction conditions: substrate (0.5 mmol), 4, (0.05 mmol), HBF4· OEt2 (0.5 mmol), and 50% aq. H2O2 (1.0 mmol) in a mixture of CH2Cl2 (2.5 mL) and HFIP (0.5 mL) under air atmosphere. Entry 6: H2SO4 (0.5 mmol) was used in place of HBF4·OEt2. Entry 4: Reaction performed on 1.5 mmol scale.
