Dpo48 rescues mice from peritoneal sepsis induced by A. baumannii. Normal mice were inoculated i.p. with A. baumannii AB1610 (107 CFU), and injected with Dpo48 (50 μg) or PBS at 2 h postinfection. (A) Mortality of mice was observed for 7 days, and comparison of the survival rates between the two groups was determined by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis with a log-rank test (n = 8, P < 0.0001). (B) Mice in each group were euthanized at 6 h postinoculation of A. baumannii, and the blood samples, liver, spleen, lung, and kidney were obtained and plated onto BHI agar for bacterial counting. The bacterial numbers are indicated as means ±SD (n = 3), and the data analysis was conducted by the independent Student’s t test (P < 0.05, ∗∗P < 0.01, ∗∗∗P < 0.001, ∗∗∗∗P < 0.0001).
