2-months-old Ctr, double KO and single KO retinal sections were analyzed by light microscopy (A), ORO staining (B) and CRE IF (C). Single Abca1 mutant mice (RPE^ΔAbca1) showed an RPE phenotype comparable to double mutants (RPE^{ΔAbca1;Abcg1}), while single Abcg1 KO mice (RPE^ΔAbcg1) were undistinguishable from controls.
