Figure 3

(A) Effect of cisplatin on HK-2 cells in inducing ROS generation. HK-2 cells were treated with cisplatin (10 μM and 100 μM) for 4 hours. After H2DCF-DA staining, the amount of fluorescence produced by cisplatin-treated cells was significantly increased at 60 and 120 minutes (n = 3, cisplatin vs. control group, ***P < .001). (B) Effect of BiZn on cisplatin-induced ROS generation in HK-2 cells. (B-a) Pretreatment with BiZn significantly reduced the fluorescence of H2DCF-DA–stained low concentration (10 μM) of cisplatin-treated cells at 60 and 120 minutes (n = 3, cisplatin vs BiZn+cisplatin group, *P < .05). (B-b) Pretreatment with BiZn significantly reduced the fluorescence of H2DCF-DA–stained high concentration (100 μM) of cisplatin-treated cells at 60 and 120 minutes (n = 3, cisplatin vs BiZn+cisplatin group, **P < .01 and *P < .05).
