The genetic loci identified by the three ePlex blood-culture panels are summarized here, including markers of taxonomic identity and determinants of antimicrobial resistance.

The Gram-negative panel specifically targets the OXA types 23 and 48, but not other OXA-class genes that may be intrinsically encoded by some Gram-negative species (although not necessarily conferring carbapenem resistance).
