The energy production during seed germination and its possible relationship to early transcriptome changes in P. euphratica and P. pruinosa. Glycolysis (gray region), TCA cycle (yellow region) and fermentation respiration (green region) are the common pathways associated with ATP production. Glyoxylate (pink region) is also an important energy source for the germinating seed via lipid metabolism.
