(A) Il1b (top panels) and Tnfa (bottom panels) transcripts (green) were detected by PLISH in lungs 7 days after influenza virus infection.

(B) Neurl3 transcripts (green) were detected by PLISH in lungs 7 days after infection. H&E staining shows whole structure of the region. AEC2s (red) were visualized by SFTPC staining. Yellow dashed lines indicate the edge of the damaged area.

(C) High-magnification images of the inset in (B) Arrowheads indicate SFTPC⁺ AEC2s expressing Neurl3 transcripts.
