Deviation between experiment and calculation for each peptide. In black is shown the deviation between the model and experimental data when the deuterium uptake of all peptides is optimized simultaneously. In red is shown the same deviation when each peptide is fitted individually; a value different from zero means that no set {Pi} can be found that perfectly fit the experimental deuterium uptake, corresponding to a lower limit for the average experimental error for that peptide. Deviation is largest for peptide 6, which is also highlighted in Fig. 6. For most other peptides, the deviation is small and within the presumed statistical error of the experimental measurement.
