Comparison of numerical solution (top) and stochastic solution (bottom) using nparticles = 109 particles. The mean-squared residual difference between the pixel-wise values of the numerical and stochastic solutions is approximately 2.5 × 10−4. The times indicated are relative to the time of the bleach frame. The field of view is 25.6 × 25.6 μm, which is different from the other validation cases to study the dynamics around this smaller rectangular bleach region with l = 3 μm more accurately.
