Participants	1. histologically confirmed cancer 2. multiple brain metastases 3. at least one measurable brain metastasis by MRI more than 4 cm or located in brainstem
Interventions	WBRT versus WBRT and thalidomide
Outcomes	1. survival 2. time to tumour progression 3. time to neurocognitive progression 4. cause of death 5. toxic effects 6. quality of life
