Summary of behavioral results. Bars indicate the group-averaged rates of recollection, familiarity, and source accuracy, separately for emotionally negative (Emo) and neutral (Neu) items. Error bars denote the standard error of the mean, and individual subject data-points are also shown. Recollection estimates were corrected for the rate of false recollection. Familiarity rates were corrected for the rate of false familiarity as well as for the rate of recollection under the independence assumption. Source accuracy reflects the accuracy rate for the two-alternative forced-choice source decision, for which chance-level is 0.5.
