Gene Expression Differences Between Controls and Schizophrenia At Each Age The normalized difference in gene expression between control and schizophrenia samples is plotted for ages 25 to 90 for genes identified to be differentially expressed in the CMC by Wald tests using DESeq2. As the values at leach locus are normalized to the observed maximum difference, only values between 1 and −1 are possible. In order to avoid over plotting, the loci were grouped into those with (A) positive maximum difference (expression higher in controls) occurring at age 60 or less (3114 loci), (B) negative maximum difference (expression higher in schizophrenia) occurring at age 60 or less (3369 loci).
