Trial name or title (Cost)‐effectiveness of a multi‐component intervention for adults with epilepsy: study protocol of a Dutch randomised controlled trial (ZMILE study)
Methods A parallel 2‐groups randomised trial
Participants 100 eligible people with epilepsy will be included in the study. Eligible participants are adults aged 18 or over, living at home, diagnosed with epilepsy and using AEDs, who understand the Dutch language, and are able to use e‐Health devices
Interventions A multi‐component intervention (MCI) which combines a self‐management/education programme of 6
 meetings with e‐Health interventions.
Outcomes The primary outcome will be self‐efficacy. Secondary outcomes include adherence, side effects, change in seizure severity and frequency, improved quality of life, proactive coping, and societal costs.
