Methods Quasi‐experiment Setting: inpatient
Participants 45 male (56%) and 35 female (44%) adult stroke survivors with urinary incontinence.
Inclusion: Acute cerebral infarction confirmed by CT scan, urinary incontinence
Exclusion: Unconscious, mental abnormality
Age: mean 63 years
Interventions A (40): Meclofenoxate 0.3g three times per day for 1 month, in addition to salvia miltirrhiza injection 16 ml, IV, 4 times per day for 2 weeks. B (40%): salvia miltirrhiza injection 16 ml, IV, 4 times per day for 2 weeks.
Outcomes Number whose urinary symptoms did not improve: A: 9/40, B: 27/40
Mean cognitive function: A: 34.5, B: 30.42
Mean activities of daily living: A: 37.4, B: 34.0
