We documented methods for use in the event of meta‐analysis in more detail to conform to current reporting standards. We reviewed and downgraded the evidence an additional level compared to the previous update, with most evidence now of moderate certainty, and evidence for the effects on the duration of mechanical ventilation of low certainty (Table 1). We updated the Discussion.
