Patterning mutations alter the dorsolateral eggshell appendage (DA) primordia. Stage 10 egg chambers express Broad (green) and rhomboid-lacZ (magenta) to mark the roof and floor cells, respectively. (B) A partial loss-of-function mutation in Ras85D disrupts epidermal growth factor signaling and depletes dorsal cell fates. The floor cells form one continuous row anterior to the roof cells.
