Secretion of apoA1 and apoE by primary trophoblasts seeded on Transwell filter supports. Primary trophoblast cells were isolated form healthy human term placentas (n = 5) and seeded at a density of  1× 10⁶ cells/cm² on Transwell inserts. Cells were cultured for five days in DMEM containing 4.5 g/l glucose supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum and antibiotic-antimycotic. Details of establishment of confluent human primary trophoblasts monolayer are described in the Materials and Methods section. The medium was collected at day one, three and five.
