Oxidized glutathione (GSSG) converts to its reduced form in the presence of NADPH, which donates a proton and is converted to its oxidized form, NADP+. GSSG increased significantly when knockout cells were treated by oxLDL. GSH: glutathione; GSSG: glutathione disulphide; GR: glutathione reductase; GPx: glutathione peroxidase.
