Molecular structure of CBL protein. (A) Three-dimensional structure of CBL protein with Ca2+ ligands binding to the EF-hands. (B) D amino acids binding to the to the Ca2+ ion in the EF-hand of CBL protein. One water molecule (vertices -X) provides structural stability to the Ca2+ ion in the EF-hand region of the CBL protein. The molecular structure of CPK protein was created according to A. thaliana CBL from protein databank as reported by Akaboshi et al., (2008) [35].
