Effect of resveratrol on breast cancer cell viability. The effect of resveratrol on the survival rate of MDA231, MDA453, MDA436, and BT549 cells was quantified by the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (MTS) method. Resveratrol was administered at concentrations of 0, 12.5, 25, 50, and 100 μM for 24, 48, or 72 h. The results are presented as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments; the SD is denoted by error bars. * p < 0.05, ** p < 0.01 vs. untreated cells.
