Reduced water absorption of hydrophobin coated stone. Water droplets were applied on the stone surface and absorption of the droplets was documented with a camera until complete absorption. Single frames from the droplets touching the stone surface are shown after 1 s, 2 s and 3 s contact. Data for absorption time are shown as mean ± standard deviation (n = 5).
