Relationship between body mass index (BMI) and total and segmental colonic transit time in constipated patients. By comparison with patients of BMI in the normal range, overweight patients have shorter rectosigmoid transit time and shorter total colonic transit time (*P < 0.01). In addition, patients of the morbid obesity group have shorter total colonic transit time than patients of the normal BMI group (**P < 0.05).
