Participants	Estimated number of participants: 80 Setting: ICU, China Inclusion criteria: age 15‐75; within 24 hours after routine extubation; pulmonary contusion significantly improved; no haemopneumothorax; pleural effusion reduced; spontaneous expectoration possible; temperature < 38.0° C; tidal volume 3‐5 mL/kg; haemodynamically stable; haemoglobin > 80 g/L Exclusion criteria: tracheotomy; craniocerebral trauma; disturbance of consciousness; other major organ injuries; facial deformity
Interventions	Intervention group (HFNC) Control group (NIV): BiPAP
